Dermal Fillers

What are Dermal fillers?

Dermal fillers are injectable treatments designed to restore lost volume, smooth lines, and enhance facial contours. As we age, or as a result of weight loss, we lose collagen, elasticity, and fullness, which can lead to wrinkles, hollow areas, and a general loss of definition in the face. Dermal fillers work by replenishing this volume, providing subtle lift and rejuvenation without the need for surgery.

At Eva Aesthetica Clinic, we use high-quality, hyaluronic acid–based fillers to refresh your appearance while maintaining natural-looking results.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?

When performed by a trained, qualified practitioner using high-quality products, dermal fillers are generally considered safe. The most commonly used fillers are made from hyaluronic acid -a substance naturally found in the skin- which makes them well-tolerated and reversible if needed.

Like any aesthetic treatment, fillers do carry some risks, including temporary swelling, redness, bruising, or tenderness at the injection site. More rare complications can occur, which is why choosing an experienced injector and having a thorough consultation is essential.

At Eva Aesthetica Clinic, your safety is our top priority. We use reputable, premium products and follow strict medical standards to ensure the best possible outcomes.

Am I Suitable for Dermal Fillers?

Dermal fillers are suitable for many people, but they may not be recommended if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, or prone to excessive bruising. During your consultation at Eva Aesthetica Clinic, Dr Anoushka will assess your medical history and treatment goals to ensure that fillers are a safe and appropriate option for you.

Pre-Treatment Advice for Dermal Fillers

To ensure you achieve the best possible results from your dermal filler treatment, we ask that you follow the guidelines below. These steps help minimise side effects and ensure your treatment is carried out safely.

Before Your Appointment:

Please plan any social events around your injectable treatment, as some redness, swelling, or bruising can occur afterwards.
Let us know if you have any planned travel within the next 4 weeks.
You should not undergo dermal filler treatment if you are feeling unwell on the day.

If you have previously had dermal fillers at another clinic, please try to find out the exact product and brand used before attending your appointment.

Please Ensure That You:

  • Do not have a current cold sore. If you are prone to cold sores, please discuss this with your practitioner in advance.

  • Have had no recent invasive dental work for at least 1 month before or after treatment.

  • Have good overall dental health.

  • Have had no recent illnesses, bacterial infections, or antibiotic treatment.

  • Are not pregnant, breastfeeding, or trying to conceive.

  • Have had no recent invasive skin treatments (in the same area being treated) for at least 4 weeks before or after dermal fillers.

  • Know the name of any previous filler used in the same area.

Medications & Supplements:

Please inform your practitioner of all medications and supplements you are currently taking, as some can increase the risk of bruising or affect how the treatment works.

For 7 days before treatment, you should avoid:

  • Ibuprofen or other over-the-counter anti-inflammatory painkillers (unless prescribed by a doctor)

  • Alcohol

  • Vitamin supplements including Vitamins A and E, Fish Oils, Garlic, Gingko Biloba, and St. John’s Wort

These can all contribute to bruising.

On the Day of Your Treatment:

  • Arrive with no makeup on the treatment area.

  • Do not reapply makeup for 24 hours after treatment to minimise the risk of irritation or infection.

Is the Treatment Painful?

Most clients experience only mild discomfort during dermal filler treatment, followed by some tenderness in the treated area. At Eva Aesthetica Clinic, your comfort is a priority. Our experienced practitioner uses gentle techniques and high-quality products to ensure the procedure is as comfortable as possible.

When Do I see Results?

Results of Dermal Filler treatments are visible immediately.

How Long Will the Results Last?

Dermal fillers offer beautifully long-lasting results, though they are not permanent. The longevity of your treatment can vary depending on factors such as the type of product, your skin type, age, lifestyle, and the area being treated.

Dr Anoushka will provide personalised guidance during your consultation to help you understand what to expect and how to maintain your results.

What Should I Do After Treatment?

Dr Anoushka will provide you with personalised aftercare instructions during your consultation to ensure you achieve the best possible results.

Following your dermal filler treatment, it’s normal to experience mild, injection-related reactions such as swelling, redness, tenderness, itching, or slight discoloration. These effects are temporary and usually settle on their own within 2 to 10 days.

Please avoid anti-inflammatory medications and aspirin unless prescribed by your doctor, as they can increase the likelihood of bleeding or bruising.

For the first 24 hours, refrain from strenuous exercise- gentle walking is fine. This helps to minimise swelling and supports optimal healing.
